Juneteenth celebration at WPAFB
Scenes from the Juneteenth celebration to commemorate the end of slavery. The event included African American art, artifacts and literary works in celebrating Gen. Gordon Granger's arrival in Galveston Texas, in 1865 to spread the word of and enforce the slavery ending emancipation proclamation. The event took place at the community center, of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Sneaker Ball at Nutter Center
The Dayton Chapter of Links, Inc.'s third annual Sneaker Ball was held Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 at the Nutter Center in Fairborn. The ball raises funds to support the organizations community service project Links to Literacy.

Clambake held for charity
On June 27, 2009 in the square, the Greene held a fund raiser event for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Food for the event was provided by McCormick & Schmick's and a ticket to this event included and open bar, free vallet parking, dancing and entertainment. The former head football coach, Mike Kelly, presented the first annual Community Spirt Award to GZK, Inc.
